WVU has two officially supported content management systems: Slate and CleanSlate. CleanSlate is the predecessor of Slate. As of Nov. 1, 2014, all new and redesigned sites are to use CleanSlate.

Both content management systems were created by University Relations Digital Services using Ruby on Rails and are focused on rapid production of websites. Check out CleanSlate’s list of features for an overview of its capabilities. Account management, tutorials and other important information is available on the CleanSlate Help site. You can also learn about sites that use CleanSlate. We highly encourage use of this University resource to allow content editors to easily update websites and keep material up-to-date. Accessibility provisions are built into CleanSlate to comply with state and federal laws.
